Accomplishments
East Bay for East Africa was founded with the primary focus of establishing and supporting St. Teresa Technical School. We have done the following since 2005:
- Collected donated computers, printers and sewing machines which were shipped to Musoli to establish the school.
- Collected donated tools and delivered them to the school.
- Purchased additional sewing machines, computers, printers and tools for the school.
- Raised money to purchase 2 acres of land for a new school site, and
- Fund the land development and construction of a new school building. Volunteers began digging the foundation on November 17, 2007, after digging a well and bringing electricity to the site.
East Bay for East Africa also makes contributions to the greater Musoli community:
- Purchased 3 knitting machines that are used by the local women's self help group as well as students at the technical school.
- Paid for the construction of a large public lavatory with running water to replace the single pit latrine used by parishioners and visitors to the nearby public market.
- Collected used science and world cultures textbooks and delivered them to two local high schools.
- Arranged for American college students to teach classes at the high schools.
